Dear Friends, as we begin a new year, I would like to thank all of you for your support and prayers for the Beni School project over the past two and half years. Together we have had the pleasure of seeing a dream of a few dedicated African Assumptionists become reality. After almost 18 years of war, the kidnapping of three of their brothers and the assassination of another, they refused to abandon their people and renewed their commitment to stay with them and help them as best they could. A school in Beni to serve those affected by this war was one of their dreams. It became reality a year and a half ago and this year doubled in size, with the addition of a junior high school section. As I wrote a few months ago, the original 12-class building is reaching completion so that we will soon be able to accommodate the growth in enrolment that we have been experiencing. Soon, unbelievably we will have to begin a new campaign to raise funds for a separate high school facility.
